Hornet Support Center

Welcome to the Hornet Support Center!

The Hornet Support Center (HSC) is located in room 116 (off The Pit) and coordinated by Noa Mandel.

The HSC is a safe space for students to receive supports, complete Reflection Sheets, or when they need a brief calming break in their day. Ms. Noa is available throughout the day, including during lunch. Ms. Noa also provides services to parents and school staff seeking out new ways to support their students.

Requesting Supports:

Students and family members can request supports for a student in one of four areas of need: academics, behavior support, social-emotional health, or attendance.

*AHS staff members should use Aeries to make this request

Requests are reviewed by Noa Mandel, then brought to the Coordination of Services Team (COST) to collaborate and find the most appropriate supports for your student. COST is a multidisciplinary team made up of AHS administrators, teachers, support staff, psychologist, counselors, and Alameda Family Services providers. Information discussed in the weekly COST meetings is kept confidential to protect students privacy. Intervention outcomes will be shared with necessary stakeholders. Possible interventions/referrals that can be made from COST are:

  • Tier 2 SMART Periods

  • Behavioral Plans/Contracts

  • Individual Counseling (SBHC)

  • Group Counseling

  • Check in/Check out (CICO)

  • Student Study Team (SST)

  • Assessment for Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan

  • Outside of school referrals

  • Peer tutoring
